Free event is Friday, June 7 at Webster Schroeder High School

Rochester, NY – Following its eighth year as house band for April’s Rochester Music Hall of Fame awards concert at Kodak Hall and its 23rd anniversary show at Lovin’ Cup earlier this month, Prime Time Funk (PTF) will return to Webster Schroeder High School (875 Ridge Rd.) for the seventh annual Spry Evening of Jazz on Friday, June 7 at 7 p.m. The free event is sponsored by Spry Cultural Arts.

“The evening concert features all three Spry Jazz Ensembles – sixth, seventh, and eighth grade – as well as the professional band, members of which come in to work with each of our groups during the day in a clinic setting,” explains the event’s organizer and Spry Middle School Band Director Allen Lis. “It’s a very exciting experience for the kids to play and interact with professional musicians, and a real nice way to end our school year.”

This will be Prime Time Funk’s third time headlining Spry Evening of Jazz

“They always do a fantastic job with the kids during the day and their evening performance is always top-notch,” says Lis.  “Kids, as well as parents, really enjoy hearing PTF.”
