Sally Cohen’s professional singing and songwriting career began in high school and culminated in the 1982 release of an album on Atlantic Records with accompanying MTV music video. She went on to earn her Actors Equity card in 1988, and became a member of both SAG and AFTRA for voice-over and on-camera work.
Rochester, NY’s R News (now Spectrum News) hired Sally in 1991 to be the 24-hour cable news station’s first and only entertainment/arts reporter and anchor. During the next 13 years, she wrote and produced thousands of stories and segments featuring local, national and world-famous artists and entertainers. Her award-winning work aired on CNN.
In June of 2005, Sally combined her passions and became a public relations consultant specializing in PR for arts. Clients ranging from the Eastman School of Music to the Nazareth College Arts Center and the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival contributed to Sally Cohen PR’s growth and reputation for first-rate work yielding measurable results.
