ROCHESTER FRINGE FESTIVALRochester Fringe Festival was pretty much just a twinkle in its board of directors’ eyes when it hired Sally Cohen PR to promote its first festival in September of 2012. The first-ever First Niagara Rochester Fringe Festival more than doubled its expected attendance with over 30,000 visitors, and decided to double itself from 5 to 10 days in 2013. Once again, the Fringe more than doubled its attendance, and 2014’s festival topped 60,000 attendees. Sally Cohen PR is very proud to be a part of a small but passionate and persistent team that has made this celebration of creativity a world-class event in just three years.
The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra first hired Sally Cohen PR in 2006 to promote its Symphony Showhouse and Symphony on the Erie Canal. AIRIGAMIAirigami = the fine art of folding air. Rochester artist and Airigami founder Larry Moss is world renowned for his incredible full-blown installations, whether it’s a giant Acrocanthosaurus for the Virginia Museum of Natural History, the world’s first piloted balloon sculpture (Fantastic Flying Octopus), or one of his six (so far) Balloon Manors.
When artist Kelly Cheatle joined Airigami in 2009, Airigami began making an international name for itself in the illustration field as well, translating temporary balloon sculpture into permanent art.
Sally became intrigued with Airigami while still a reporter (her first story to go national was Balloon Manor 2004) and Moss became one of her first clients in 2005. Sally Cohen PR’s efforts over the years have earned Airigami an international AP story; multiple CNN Headline stories and other national news coverage; a PBS feature; and appearances on The Martha Stewart Show, Good Morning America, and the Today show.
